Was the slap by Will Smith a staged act? No, it was not staged. After watching the clip yesterday of this encounter at the Oscars from a body language perspective Will Smith walked up to Chris Rock in a very aggressive manner. If you saw someone walking towards you in the street in this manner you would be in trouble. Some type of physical aggression would take place and you would be in danger.

If this was staged the Academy will not let Will Smith use the "F" word at the Oscars after the slap took place. Chris Rock should not have made a joke about Will Smith's wife medical condition. That was insensitive. Chris Rock, made a joke about Will Smith's wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, who suffers from hair-loss disease alopecia, referring to her as starring in G.I Jane two.

Chris Rock stated after the incident took place he did not know about Jada Pinkett-Smith's medical condition. I do not believe his statement. Chris Rock knew something or he would have not made a reference to G.I Jane when referring to Will Smith's wife. G.I. Jane is a 1997 American war drama film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Demi Moore, Viggo Mortensen, and Anne Bancroft. In G.I Jane Demi Moore was bald.

Both Will Smith and Chris Rock will be the center of attention for weeks to come. Hollywood loves to be the center of attention.
